Electroencephalography – a universal tool for neuroscientific research

Abstract: Electroencephalography (EEG) is a universal tool that can be used in many fileds of neuroscientific research: from mental states detection to real-time control. In this talk, Prof. Müller Putz will discuss the origin of EEG, and highlight several studies, based on EEG recordings. These studies span from mental states detection like errors, perturbations and attention. Following this, he will discuss the possibility to study movement kinematics and provide an overview of latest brain-computer interface studies. Pros and cons of the EEG will be discussed in a final phase of this talk.
